Traces of National Socialism in Aachen – “Paths Against Forgetting” Guided tour in English

This interactive walking tour through Aachen’s city center explores selected sites along the “Wege gegen das Vergessen” (Paths Against Forgetting) as well as other historical locations. It offers insights into the city’s history during the Nazi era and illustrates how these events are commemorated today.
Focusing on Aachen’s population, the tour examines who carried out the regime’s nationalist, anti-Semitic, and racist violence, who benefited from it, and who became victims or engaged in acts of resistance.

A dialogical walking tour through downtown Aachen that, using selected stops along the “Wege gegen das Vergessen” and other historical sites, provides insight into Aachen’s history during the Nazi era and shows how these events are commemorated.
