The Aachen City Council
The Council is the city's most important decision-making body. It represents the citizens together with Lord Mayor Dr. Michael Ziemons. The current Council was elected on September 14, 2025. It is made up of 66 members and the Lord Mayor, who is the Chairman of the Council. He is a member of the Council by law and has his own voting rights in the Council.
