Staff Council of the City of Aachen

We are there for our colleagues. The Staff Council represents all employees and civil servants, including trainees, interns and employees on special measures.

The members of the respective staff councils are regularly elected every four years by and from the ranks of the employees to be represented. Youth and trainee representatives and representatives of severely disabled employees are elected in separate elections. The respective staff councils hold a staff meeting at least once a calendar year. They report on their activities in the previous year. The legal basis for the work of the staff councils in North Rhine-Westphalia is the State Staff Representation Act (LPVG).
According to the LPVG, the staff council has certain co-determination, participation, information and other participation rights in the performance of its duties. An important task of the staff council is to ensure compliance with the laws, regulations, collective agreements, service agreements and administrative orders that apply to employees.
