At its constituent meeting on November 4, 2020, the Aachen City Council elected Hilde Scheidt, Holger Brantin and Norbert Plum as honorary deputies to the Lord Mayor.
The mayors are elected until the end of the City Council's term of office (autumn 2025) and represent the Lord Mayor at representative appointments and when chairing council meetings. They do not receive a salary for this, but an expense allowance.
They take on many of the Mayor's representative appointments. These include, for example, congratulations on anniversaries or birthdays, greetings at events (e.g. opening of festivals, laying of foundation stones) or receiving official guests of the city in the town hall.
Hilde Scheidt
First deputy to the Lord Mayor. She is a member of the DIE GRÜNEN parliamentary group on Aachen City Council.
