Location: Laurensberg district council, Rathausstraße 12, 52072 Aachen, ground floor foyer.
Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, Wednesdays additionally from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Hearing: The public hearing for citizens (opportunity to comment and discuss) will take place on 19.11.2025 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the ALRV Press Center, Aachen Department, Albert-Servais-Allee 50, 52070 Aachen.

Explanations on planning

With its existing club and professional sports facilities, the Soers Sports Park is already an area that fosters a sense of identity and attracts visitors from beyond the city limits of Aachen. Currently, however, the Sports Park is unable to fully utilize its potential to meet demand.

As part of the revision of the AACHEN*2030 land-use plan, the area was to be retained as green space designated for “sports facilities,” but this objective was contradicted by the approval conditions from 2021. Consequently, there is currently no stated objective for the planning area at the land-use planning level. The area is now to be designated as a special zone with the designated use “Sports, Recreation, and Culture,” supplemented by the symbol SO-SFK 2.I – Soers / Mitte Sports Park.

Based on the urban planning need to redefine the objectives and primary uses of the planning area, a comprehensive public participation process was initiated.
