Copyright and rights of use
Photos, graphics, plans, maps, printed works, manuscripts, letters and other documents may still be protected by copyright decades after they have been handed over to the archive. Copyright is transferred to the author's heirs after their death and does not expire until 70 years after death. It is also possible that authors have granted rights of use to other persons or institutions, which may still be valid. These rights restrict the use, reproduction and publication of archive material.
Even we as an archive do not always have the necessary information about authors and rights holders.
Please also note any changes in the legal situation!
