Copyright and rights of use
Photos, graphics, plans, maps, printed works, manuscripts, letters and other documents may still be protected by copyright decades after they have been handed over to the archive. Copyright does not expire until 70 years after the death of the author and is then transferred to the heirs. It is also possible that authors have granted other persons or institutions rights of use that may still apply. These rights restrict the use, reproduction and publication of archive material.
Even we as an archive do not always have the necessary information about authors and rights holders.
Please also note any changes in the legal situation!
