Workshop “Clean East District – Action Workshop Against Littering” on June 23, 2026, in lieu of the regular meeting
At its meeting on September 9, 2025, the Citizens’ Forum discussed a citizen’s petition on the topic of “Illegal dumping in the Ostviertel” and unanimously decided to organize a joint discussion between the petitioners, politicians, and the administration.
The Citizens’ Forum’s regularly scheduled meeting on June 23, 2026, will therefore not be canceled, but will instead be used to implement this resolution. In place of the regular committee meeting, a workshop titled “Clean East District – Workshop on Measures to Combat Littering” will be held.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together the perspectives of citizens, policymakers, government officials, and community stakeholders to jointly develop concrete, realistic measures to reduce litter in the Ostviertel neighborhood. The focus is on determining which approaches can be tested or pursued further over the next few months.
To facilitate a work-oriented format with in-depth discussion, the number of participants is intentionally limited. Invited participants include the applicants, representatives of Aachen City Services, the Public Order Office, the neighborhood management team, the AC-Ost / Rothe Erde district conference, as well as political representatives from the Citizens’ Forum and the Aachen-Mitte District Council.
With this approach, the Citizens’ Forum is actively implementing its own resolution and using the meeting constructively to collaboratively develop solutions to a specific issue raised by the community.
Please note: This workshop is designed as an internal working session and is therefore not open to the public.
