Eastern cemetery

The Ostfriedhof covers an area of 125,265 m² and has been in use since August 28, 1803 (!). It is the oldest cemetery still in use in the city of Aachen. In 2010, there were 28 burials. Only urn burials are permitted here. Currently, 90 percent of the cemetery, along with the buildings and grave sites located there, are designated as historic landmarks.
Access is available from Adalbertsteinweg across from St. Joseph’s Church and from Eifelstraße. The cemetery is open from March 1 through September 30, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Sundays and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. From

: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sat
: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sun
and holidays: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The opening hours from November 3 through the last day of February are:
