Cemetery of honor (memorial)

Description

The cemetery grounds border directly on the Waldfriedhof, so that the two cemeteries form a single unit. This cemetery is reserved exclusively for the graves of victims of war and tyranny. The Cemetery of Honor covers an area of 85,622 m². The oldest section was established in 1914 for those who fell in World War I. In 1941, it was expanded to include military and civilian victims of World War II. The Bismarck Tower, erected in 1907, also stands on the grounds.
Access is available from Monschauer Straße, across from II. Rote-Haag-Weg, or via the Waldfriedhof. The cemetery is open all day.
By public transportation, the cemetery can be reached via the “Waldfriedhof” stop.
