Cemetery of honor (memorial)

Description

The cemetery grounds directly adjoin the forest cemetery, so that both cemeteries form a single unit. Only the graves of victims of war and tyranny are buried here. The cemetery of honor is 85,622 m² in size. The oldest part was laid out in 1914 for the fallen soldiers of the First World War. It was extended in 1941 for the military and civilian victims of the Second World War. The Bismarck Tower, built in 1907, is also located on the grounds.
Access is possible from Monschauer Straße opposite the II-Rote-Hag-Weg or via the forest cemetery. Access is possible throughout the day.
The cemetery can be reached by public transport via the "Waldfriedhof" stop.
