Located between Krefelder Straße—the northern access route leading toward downtown—and the Soers landscape, the Soers Sports Park serves as a defining part of identity for many Aachen residents due to its past and present role in sports history. To further advance the development of the Sportpark, the AACHEN*2030 land-use plan is to be amended. The goal of the planning is to designate a special zone with the designated use “Sports, Recreation, and Culture” to implement the guidelines set forth in the Sportpark Soers Master Plan.

The Planning Committee has therefore, upon the recommendation of the Aachen-Laurensberg District Council, decided to make the draft amendment to the AACHEN*2030 Land Use Plan “Sportpark Soers / Mitte” available for public review. This period runs from Monday, September 28, through Wednesday, October 28. The documents are available online on the central website of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia at www.beteiligung.nrw.de and at https://beteiligung.aachen.de.

The documents are on public display at the same time in the administration building Am Marschiertor, Lagerhausstraße 20, 4th floor, room 400. Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 4 pm, Wednesdays until 5 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.
