Exciting New Releases: Denis Scheck Visits the Aachen City Library
Which new releases are must-reads? And which ones can you safely set aside? On Monday, October 5, literary critic Denis Scheck will once again be a guest at the Aachen City Library. Starting at 7 p.m., he will present a selection of current books and offer guidance on the diverse offerings of the “Literaturherbst” literary festival.
Denis Scheck is known for his incisive, knowledgeable, and sometimes unsparing assessments of literature. Since 2003, he has hosted the ARD literary program “Druckfrisch” and is one of Germany’s most prominent literary critics. As a critic, journalist, translator, and author, he has been deeply engaged with German-language and international literature for decades.
In Aachen, too, Scheck takes a close look at the latest releases: With expertise, wit, and clear assessments, he presents books that he believes deserve special attention—and is just as candid about the titles he finds less compelling. The audience can look forward to a journey through the current world of books that is as entertaining as it is opinionated.
