Aachen Brings Sustainability to Life
From September 18 to October 8, the “German Sustainability Action Days” will take place throughout Germany. More than 30 events and activities focused on sustainability, climate protection, and sustainable development have been organized in Aachen for this occasion. These events invite you to learn more, get involved, discover new ideas, and experience sustainability firsthand in your everyday life. The program covers a wide range of topics, from resource conservation and the circular economy to energy and sustainable consumption, as well as mobility, climate adaptation, and finance. Examples include a used cell phone collection drive, the “Heating Basement of the Future” action day, various farmers’ markets, and an online lecture on sustainable investing.
Some of the events are part of other campaign weeks that coincide with the “German Sustainability Action Days.” These include Climate Adaptation Week from September 14 to 20 and European Mobility Week from September 16 to 22, which this year has the theme “Mobility Across Generations.” The various events complement one another thematically and highlight the diversity of sustainable development in Aachen.
Everyone can participate in the “German Sustainability Action Days.” Whether it’s a clothing swap, a cooking class, a panel discussion, a workshop, or your own creative idea: you can easily register your event online. The more people, initiatives, and organizations that participate, the stronger our collective message for sustainable development will be.
