The Rothe Erde and Forst neighborhoods are facing a wide range of changes. The goal of Development Plan No. 1023, “Freunder Weg / Eisenbahnweg,” is to facilitate the development of a commercial district on an unused brownfield site. There is high demand for commercially usable land in locations with good transportation access. In addition, certain areas are to be re-greened to simultaneously facilitate ecologically sound urban planning.

The Planning Committee has therefore decided, upon the recommendation of the Aachen-Mitte District Council, to publish Development Plan No. 1023, “Freunder Weg / Eisenbahnweg.” The publication period runs from Monday, October 19, through Friday, November 20, inclusive. The documents can be found on the central website of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia at https:\\beteiligung.aachen.de or at www.aachen.de/bauleitplanung.

The documents are on public display at the same time in the administration building Am Marschiertor, Lagerhausstraße 20, 4th floor, room 400. Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 4 pm, Wednesdays until 5 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.
