Mobility Dashboard Gets a New Structure and Thematic Overviews
The City of Aachen has revamped its mobility dashboard and further developed its digital platform for traffic information. At verkehr.aachen.de (https://verkehr.aachen.de), interested users can now find a redesigned homepage. It provides a central overview of mobility in the city and offers direct access to various topics.
The mobility dashboard consolidates key traffic data and information from various areas of urban mobility. This includes, among other things, information on car, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic, as well as local public transit and sharing services. Commercial traffic also has its own section.
The new structure divides the dashboard into five thematic sections:
- Car Travel: Information on current traffic conditions, parking options, charging stations, and roadwork.
- Walking: Data and information about walking as a mode of transportation.
- Bicycle Traffic: Insights into bicycle traffic, based in part on data from municipal bicycle counting stations.
- Public Transportation & Sharing: Information about public transportation and various sharing services.
- Commercial Transportation: Data and information on mobility and transportation for businesses and economic actors.
The thematic breakdown makes it easier for users to find the specific information that is relevant to their individual mobility needs. Instead of presenting a multitude of different transportation options on a single page, the dashboard now offers a clear and organized entry point and groups the data according to the various modes of transportation.
The platform is continuously being developed and updated with additional data and information.
