Contemporary Puppet Theater: The “Animations” Series at Space
The “Animations” series, featuring contemporary puppet theater at the Space in the Ludwig Forum on Jülicher Straße, continues. Contemporary puppet theater encompasses a wide range of aesthetic techniques and staging possibilities. It draws on ideas and inspiration from all the arts. The animated puppet takes center stage in the productions presented. The next performance weekend is November 20 and 21, 2026. The FAB Theater will present “Crinckled—Two Lives, Folded, Wrinkled, Crumpled” for adults and “Dr. Flora” for children.

A series of scenes about transience, told through paper and percussion
Usually, stories are written on paper. But in Alice Therese Gottschalk’s work, the paper itself becomes the storyteller. Paper in its various states of matter, as well as masks and marionettes made of paper, create stories; they crackle with life, rustle with love, dance with joy, and burn with excitement. The life cycle of a simple material becomes a metaphor for transformation and transience.
Inseparable from this, percussionist Anja Füsti creates distinctive sounds and compositions that render language unnecessary. A whirlwind of paper in a duo of puppetry and music.

"Dr. Flora"
FAB Theater
Dr. Flora not only has a green thumb, but also a green nose. That’s why she’s a doctor for all kinds of flowers and plants. When her favorite flower refuses to lift its head one morning, she must set out on a journey through the worlds of humans, gnomes, and elves. On her journey, she encounters all sorts of wonderfully strange creatures—will they find the ingredients for the life-saving magic fertilizer together?
Director/Performer/Set Designer: Alice Therese Gottschalk
Magic Consultant: Sebastian Gottschalk
Admission: 8 euros (full price), 5 euros (reduced)
Tickets for both dates are available in advance at www.reservix.de and at the box office on the night of the event.
