Pontstrasse: Regionetz expands district heating network
Regionetz is expanding the district heating network in Pontstrasse. Construction work on the section from Augustinerbach/Neupforte to Templergraben/Driescher Gässchen will start at the beginning of June. According to current planning, the work will take around six months.
Regionetz is working in sections from Augustinerbach/Neupforte in the direction of Templergraben/Driescher Gässchen. Due to safety regulations, the respective construction area will be fully closed to motor traffic. The footpaths are still available. In the Neupforte, the one-way street will be removed and vehicles will be able to drive in both directions for the next few months. The entire Neupforte will be restricted to local traffic. A turning area will be set up at the Pontstraße junction.
The work is being monitored archaeologically with a view to Aachen's history. Possible finds often lead to an unpredictable extension of the construction period.
Regionetz asks for your understanding for the inconvenience caused by the work. Together with the companies it has commissioned, it is endeavoring to keep the inconvenience to a minimum. All measures have been coordinated with the responsible authorities and institutions.
