Literary summer 2026: Advance booking starts
Now in its 27th year, the Literary Summer/Literaire Zomer once again offers a first-class mix of German and Dutch-language literary discoveries on both sides of the border: 50 events with 30 writers in 19 cities. Readings and discussions with authors make up the majority of the program, with well-known guests such as Hanns-Josef Ortheil, Nora Gomringer, Stefan Hertmans, Lize Spit and Markus Orths invited, as well as young voices with their novel debuts, such as Nora Osagiobare, Falun Ellie Koos and Anne Sauer. In addition, on Saturday, July 18, the spoken word scene will meet on the Lousberg for the big Euregional Poetry Slam Final.
The opening of the Literary Summer will take place on Thursday, July 2, at 7:30 pm in the Ludwig Forum Aachen. Dutch author Stefan Hertmans will read from his latest book "Dius".
Advance ticket sales begin on Friday, May 22. For more information and tickets, visit www.literarischer-sommer.eu or stop by the Schmetz am Dom bookstore at Münsterplatz 7-9.
