Citizens' forum: Motions on parking space and the recommendations from the Citizens' Council
The Citizens' Forum of the City of Aachen will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall.
The focus is on two requests from citizens in accordance with Section 24 of the NRW Municipal Code. One application deals with the parking situation on the west side of Aachen Central Station. Various measures are proposed to improve access and traffic routing at the Zollamtstraße parking lot in order to optimize traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks.
Another proposal aims to systematically evaluate the implementation of recommendations from the Aachen Citizens' Council. The aim is to examine the extent to which adopted measures have been implemented and what effects they have had. The aim is more transparency, traceability and learning opportunities for politicians, administration and the public.
In addition to citizens' motions, the meeting also provides space for residents' question time and for other suggestions and complaints.
The Citizens' Forum is a council committee of the City of Aachen and sees itself as a place of exchange between citizens, politics and administration. Interested parties can submit their concerns here, discuss them with the council groups and discuss them together with the specialist administration. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, join in the discussions and play an active role. Every opinion is important.
