Good news for the Aachen pop choir community: after a creative break, the pop choir of the City of Aachen Music School is returning in the 2026/27 school year. The twelfth edition of the popular community music project will continue a successful tradition - this time with new perspectives and a special performance venue.

The final concerts in the Eurogress Aachen promise to be a real highlight: The Europasaal not only offers excellent technical facilities and a prestigious setting, but also allows the maximum number of participants to be increased. Rehearsals will continue to take place at the Einhard-Gymnasium Aachen, where stable conditions for preparation are guaranteed.

Participants can also look forward to a varied musical program: the focus of "Popchor 12.0" is on the great hits of the 1980s. In addition, the project format "Best of Special" invites you on a musical journey through earlier highlights of past Pop Choir editions - with excerpts from The Greatest Showman, music by Michael Jackson, Queen and popular film music programs.

As a community music project, the pop choir thrives on the diversity of its voices. New singers are therefore particularly welcome - especially tenor and bass voices.

Special thanks go to Tanja Raich, initiator and long-standing artistic director of the project, who is once again contributing her experience and musical enthusiasm and continuing to shape the project.
