Campus West: Development plan on display from March 30
Campus West is one of the largest planning projects in the city of Aachen. In close cooperation with its partners RWTH Aachen University and Campus GmbH, the city is pursuing an ambitious goal: a research landscape is to be created on a good 25 hectares that sets standards throughout Europe and at the same time combines science, business and urban life.
At its last meeting, the planning committee decided to republish development plan no. 923 "Campus West" on the internet and also to put the plan on public display. It was also decided that comments are only permitted in relation to the amendments and additions.
The draft of development plan no. 923 including the explanatory memorandum with environmental report and written stipulations as well as the environmental comments on the development plan prepared in the course of the supplementary procedure will be published on the Internet from Monday, March 30 to Monday, May 4 via the central Internet portal of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia at beteiligung.nrw.de and at beteiligung.aachen.de.
The documents are also available for public inspection during the same period at the Department of Urban Development and Planning, Administration Building at Marschiertor, Lagerhausstraße 20, 4th floor, room 400. They can be viewed Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 4 pm, on Wednesdays until 5 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.
At the end of 2024, the Münster Higher Administrative Court declared the Campus West development plan invalid. The main reasons for this were changes to the resolution on the articles of association and inadequate noise protection regulations. The city subsequently dealt with the deficiencies addressed by the court. The development plan will now be published again.
