Sport and fun at the Aachen elementary school swimming festival
Around 200 children from 17 Aachen elementary school went on the hunt for trophies, certificates and medals yesterday, Thursday, March 19, in Aachen's East Swimming Hall at the Aachen Primary School Swimming Festival. The endurance swimming, swimming sprints, diving, the "Juxstaffel" and the "Lifeguard" were fair, cheerful, colorful, social and loud. The teachers' swimming competition was also very popular once again.
Sporting winners of the tournament
First place in the sporting competition went to "Die Segelfische" from the Vaalserquartier Community Primary School (GGS). Second place went to the "Blaue Marlins" team from the Karl-Kuck-Schule Catholic Primary School (KGS). A very good third place was achieved by the "Wellenbrecher" team from GGS Am Höfling. These three teams received the coveted seahorse trophy. But there were no losers at the swimming sports festival: each team received a certificate and all children a medal for their participation.
The organizers of the swimming sports festival, Ilona Orlikowski, Headmistress of KGS Am Fischmarkt, Marcel Stempel, Vice Principal of GGS Brühlstraße and Ellen Schartmann from the Sports Department of the City of Aachen and Managing Director of the School Sports Committee, as well as AOK Aachen as sponsor, were also delighted with the atmosphere and the sporting achievements.
