Virtual trip to Portugal with João Tiago de Sousa
João Tiago de Sousa is an international relations and European affairs analyst from the Portuguese island of Madeira. He founded the Madeira Institute for European Studies there, which is dedicated to promoting European competence, citizenship and dialog.
During the event in the "My Europe" series on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m., he will present his home country and discuss the attitude of the Portuguese population towards the EU, particularly in view of the country's recent presidential elections.
The young speaker wants to make clear how important it is to have well-informed and open discussions about international relations and the future of the EU. He also wants to show what life is like in the remote regions of the EU and explain the special role these areas play and the benefits they bring to the EU.
Participants will gain an insight into the country of Portugal during the virtual journey and can actively participate. There will be an interactive quiz during the entertaining evening with insights into Portuguese society. Questions from participants will be answered by presenter Felix Schneider.
