Kornelimünster: In search of a parking concept
The parking situation in the historic center of Kornelimünster has been an issue that has occupied the administration and politicians for years. Last year, district politicians commissioned the administration to draw up a parking concept and present the results to interested members of the public. Citizens will be involved in the development of the future parking concept in a participatory process. This also involves the question of whether a traffic trial should be carried out to test how the quality of life in the historic town center could possibly be improved. One question could be, for example: Does it make sense to reorganize parking on Korneliusmarkt and Benediktusplatz?
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the specialist administration will present its plans and findings to date. The information event starts at 6 pm at the Inda-Gymnasium, Gangolfsweg 52, in Aachen-Kornelimünster. It will last until 8 pm.
However, interested parties can also find out about the plans in two other ways. Firstly, the plans are available at the Kornelimünster/Walheim district office, Schulberg 20, until April 2, 2026 from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. They can also be found online at the following website: www.aachen.de/parkraumkonzept-kornelimuenster
