International Weeks against Racism: Reading with Stève Hiobi at the Nadelfabrik
Together with the prevention program "Wegweiser - Stark ohne islamistischer Extremismus" in the Aachen region, the Municipal Integration Center of the City of Aachen invites you to a reading with Stéve Hiobi as part of the International Weeks against Racism. The author will be reading from his book "All about Africa - what you should know about the continent" on Friday, March 27, at 7 pm in the foyer of the Nadelfabrik.
Africa is more than just clichés, headlines about crises and safaris. Africa is a diverse, dynamic continent full of history, innovation and the future. In "All about Africa", Stève Hiobi invites you to a change of perspective - informative and approachable.
With in-depth knowledge, personal insights and a good dose of plain language, the author aims to dispel common clichés and shed light on the political, economic and social contexts that are usually neglected in the public debate about the continent. It is not just about facts, but also about attitudes: How do we talk about the African continent? What images and what history shape our thinking and what does all this have to do with us?
The event is aimed at anyone who wants to deepen and reflect on their knowledge - whether they are politically interested, socially engaged or simply curious.
After the reading, there will be the opportunity to exchange ideas in a convivial atmosphere. The audience is invited to ask questions, join in the discussion and gain new perspectives. The Frankenberg bookshop will be offering books for sale on site, which can be signed by the author afterwards.
