Adenauerallee: City and Regionetz Provide Information on Construction Projects
The stormwater sewer, power lines, and streetlight cables on Adenauerallee between In den Küpperbenden and Branderhofer Weg must be replaced by the utility operator Regionetz. Construction will begin on July 20 and is expected to last until the end of 2026. During this time, Adenauerallee between Erzbergerallee and Branderhofer Weg will be completely closed to motor vehicle traffic.
In addition, Regionetz will connect the new district heating pipeline between the city center and Brand near the Adenauerallee tunnel, running from Thiensweg to Lintertstraße. To do so, it must cross Adenauerallee.
The City of Aachen and the network operator Regionetz will provide information about both construction projects on Adenauerallee and the planned detour routes at two informational events.
Two Information Sessions
: The information session specifically for residents, neighbors, and business owners will take place on Thursday, July 2, in the auditorium of Einhards-Gymnasium, Robert-Schuman-Straße 4 in Aachen. It begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m.
An online event for anyone else who is interested is scheduled for Monday, July 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Those interested can find the latest information and the Zoom link for the online event at the following link: https://beteiligung.nrw.de/k/1028300.
Closure of Adenauerallee Is Necessary
: The closure of Adenauerallee to motor vehicle traffic is necessary because the new sewer line runs beneath the road. By completely closing the road to motor vehicles, Regionetz ensures compliance with current safety regulations and allows work to proceed more quickly.
