As part of the major asphalt work on Münsterstraße, the Aachen Public Works Department is having the road surface resurfaced. This affects the section between the town limits and the area around house number 190. The work is expected to take place from Wednesday, July 1, through Friday, July 17. The affected area must be completely closed off; access to driveways and garages will be limited during the construction period. Sidewalks will remain open; cyclists are asked to walk their bikes on the sidewalk. Alternatively, the Vennbahn trail can be used.

The asphalt pavement is scheduled to be laid from 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, through Saturday, July 11. Therefore, no motor vehicle traffic will be permitted in the entire roadway area described above.

It is strongly recommended not to walk on the sprayed road surface, as there is a risk of permanently staining clothing. The same applies to driving vehicles. Parking on the sidewalks is prohibited during the entire construction period. The work may cause noise and dirt nuisance. Appropriate protective measures will be taken to keep this to a minimum.

Given the poor condition of the road surface, asphalt rehabilitation is absolutely necessary at this time and cannot be postponed. This is the only way to ensure that traffic safety is maintained for all road users on Münsterstraße.
