Road resurfacing on Blondelstraße
As part of the major asphalt work on Blondelstraße, the Aachen Public Works Department is having the road surface repaved. This affects the area around the APAG parking garage on Adalbertstraße, starting at the side street near the Blondel Pharmacy and ending at the intersection with Peterstraße. Work begins today, Monday, June 15, and is expected to continue through Friday, July 3. The affected area must be completely closed off; access to courtyards and garages will be limited during the construction period. Sidewalks will remain open; cyclists are asked to walk their bikes on the sidewalk. Bus service is not affected by these measures.
The asphalt surface will be laid from 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, until approximately 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2. As a result, no motor vehicle traffic will be permitted in the entire road section described above.
It is strongly recommended not to walk on the sprayed road surface, as there is a risk of permanently staining clothing. The same applies to driving vehicles. Parking on the sidewalks is prohibited during the entire construction period. The work may cause noise and dirt nuisance. Appropriate protective measures will be taken to keep this to a minimum.
Given the poor condition of the road surface, asphalt rehabilitation is absolutely necessary at this time and cannot be postponed. This is the only way to ensure that traffic safety is maintained for all road users on Blondelstraße.
