To coincide with the start of the 2026 World Cup, Aachen is now really getting into the soccer mood: on Friday, June 12, at around 6 p.m., the Katschhof will be transformed into a soccer arena. At a flash mob, around 300 pupils from grammar schools in the city of Aachen and the city region will present a musical program that will really get the World Cup fever going. The program includes world-famous soccer anthems such as "You'll Never Walk Alone" as well as tunes like "Let's Get Loud". The young musicians bring the summer fairytale atmosphere of major soccer tournaments to the Katschhof.

The project consisting of more than ten ensembles is coordinated by Claudia Heuschen, music teacher at the municipal Einhard-Gymnasium and director of the Einhard Symphony Orchestra. Working closely with the music teachers at the participating schools, she ensures the right team spirit so that the many young musicians harmonize as one large ensemble.

So if you want to get into the right World Cup mood now, you should join the flash mob at the Katschhof next Friday and get a taste of the stadium atmosphere.
