A4/A44: Temporary Closure of the Connecting Ramps at the Aachen Interchange
According to Autobahn GmbH, there will be a brief closure of the connecting ramps between the A4 and A44 at the Aachen interchange next Monday, August 3.
Between 9 a.m. and approximately 4 p.m., the ramps will be closed in the following order:
- A44: The junction where the A44, coming from Belgium, connects to the A4 in the direction of Cologne and in the direction of the Netherlands
- A44: The junction of the A4 coming from the Netherlands and the junction of the A544 coming from Aachen, heading toward Düsseldorf
- A4/A44: The junction where the A4 from Cologne connects to the A44 heading toward Belgium, and at the same time, the junction where the A44 from Düsseldorf connects to the A4 heading toward Cologne
The closure is necessary to allow for urgent repairs to the roadway. During this time, sections of the roadway will be roughened using a fine milling machine to improve traction.
Autobahn GmbH recommends taking a wide detour around the Aachen interchange during the specified time period.
