St.-Vither-Straße will be closed from July 30 through August 1
The Aachen Public Works Department is having the road surface on St.-Vither-Straße repaired through August 7. The work covers the section between the intersection with Eupener Straße and the junction with Salierallee. From Thursday afternoon, July 30, through Saturday, August 1, St.-Vither-Straße will be completely closed to motor vehicle traffic.
During this period, the final and top layer of asphalt will be laid. Vehicle traffic in both directions will be rerouted via Eupener Straße and Salierallee. Access to courtyards and garages will not be available during the full closure.
The sidewalks on St.-Vither-Straße will remain open and accessible even during the full closure. Cyclists are asked to walk their bikes if they are using the sidewalks, or to use other streets in the area. Parking on the sidewalks is prohibited throughout the entire construction period. Bus service, waste collection, and access for emergency services and the fire department will be ensured at all times.
The construction work may cause some noise and dust. The City of Aachen asks for your understanding. Appropriate protective measures will be taken to minimize the disruption as much as possible.
The municipal authority asks that you not walk on the wet pavement, as there is a risk that your clothing will become permanently stained. The same applies to driving vehicles on the wet pavement.
Given the poor condition of the road surface, repaving St.-Vither-Straße at this time is absolutely necessary. This is the only way to ensure that traffic safety is maintained for all road users.
