This coming Friday, you can see hobbyhorses out in the open at Katschhof: Children who crafted their very own hobby horses as part of a summer camp program organized by the city library, along with the children and teens who created artistic obstacles at the Archimedes Workshop by the Archimedes Sandbox, will jointly present their work at the Hobby Horsing event. In keeping with the Aachen World Championships Special—the supporting program for the World Equestrian Games—the obstacles have been arranged into a course that everyone can try out.

Also joining us is Curly-Sue Schaaf, the West German champion in Hobby Horsing jumping, who will be on hand to offer tips to the young Hobby Horsing riders. All children who want to ride the course must bring their own hobby horse. The event kicks off on Friday, July 31, at 3 p.m. at the Archimedes Sandbox on Aachen’s Katschhof.

Sandbox: For two weeks, children and teens ages 8 to 14 built a giant horse on the Katschhof in the Archimedes’ Sandbox workshop, bringing science to life for everyone—a project that would not have been possible without the support of materials and tools provided by Deubner. In addition to Deubner, STAWAG once again supported the Archimedes Sandbox, and this year, Sparkasse Aachen also contributed.
