Moltkepark: City Installs a Bouldering Block on the Railroad Embankment
Following a decision by the Sports Committee, the City of Aachen’s Sports and Climate and Environment departments are having an artificial, freestanding climbing structure built in Moltkepark on the Bahndamm. The structure, shaped like a bouldering block, features an archway and climbing routes of varying difficulty levels.
As part of the city's sports development initiative, the new bouldering wall complements the wide range of freely accessible sports facilities in the city of Aachen.
Civil engineering work to construct the fall protection surface has already begun. The foundations are currently being poured. After a curing period of two to three weeks, the large XL boulder block will be installed. Afterward, the wood chips will be delivered and installed as fall protection.
