Adenauerallee: Regionetz's construction project will not begin until after the World Equestrian Games in Reit
Contrary to the original plan, construction on Adenauerallee will begin later than expected. As things stand now, work will not begin until after the World Equestrian Games (August 11–23). The exact start date is still being determined in consultation with the City of Aachen and the contractors. The week beginning August 24 is currently under consideration.
Renovation of Sewer and Utility Lines
: On Adenauerallee, between the junction with In den Küpperbenden and the intersection with Branderhofer Weg, the sewer in the roadway, power lines, service connections, and streetlight cables must be replaced. The work is expected to take up to half a year. Adenauerallee will be closed to through traffic in both directions between Erzbergerallee and Branderhofer Weg.
In addition to sewer and pipeline construction, Regionetz will lay a new district heating pipeline under Adenauerallee, just before the tunnel leading from Thiensweg toward Lintertstraße. This work will take only a few weeks and may result in closures of sections of Adenauerallee. The public will be informed of further details in a timely manner.
Access for the fire department, emergency medical services, police, and garbage collection is ensured at both construction sites.
Additional Information Session
: Regionetz and the City of Aachen invite interested parties to a second information session. It is primarily intended for commuters who currently use Adenauerallee by car.
The event will take place online on Monday, July 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Those interested can find the Zoom link for the online event at https://beteiligung.nrw.de/k/1028300 or on the website www.aachen.de/adenauerallee.
The City of Aachen and Regionetz had already provided information about the Adenauerallee construction project during an in-person event at Einhard Gymnasium on July 2.
