Zoning Plan: New Housing and a Daycare Center in Südtstadt
The “Mariabrunnstraße / Weberstraße” zoning plan is intended to allow for the construction of apartment buildings, thereby creating much-needed new housing in Aachen. A daycare center is also planned for the site in the Südstadt neighborhood near the Hangeweier. In the future, vehicles will be able to park in an underground garage there. The area is intended to be largely car-free.
The Planning Committee has decided to initiate early public participation, following a recommendation from the Aachen-Mitte District Council. Instead of being available from Monday, July 6, through Friday, August 7, the documents are published online on the central website of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia at www.beteiligung.nrw.de and at https://beteiligung.aachen.de. There, you can also submit comments or statements regarding the plan.
The plans will also be on display in the lobby of the administrative building at Marschiertor, Lagerhausstraße 20. Hours: Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The City of Aachen will also hold a public hearing there on Wednesday, July 8, at 6 p.m.
