Explosive ordnance found in Franzstraße: evacuation completed
The evacuation of the area around the US aerial bomb on Franzstrasse has been completed. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service will start defusing the bomb in the next few minutes. As soon as this has been completed, the City of Aachen will issue another announcement.
We ask that under no circumstances should you return to your home before the area has been cleared.
Evacuees who have no other accommodation can stay in the Tivoli business area. ASEAG is using special buses to pick up people from the Normaluhr bus stop (on Wilhelmstraße towards Kaiserplatz) and the bus station and take them to Tivoli free of charge.
The city of Aachen is asking residents who have questions about the evacuation to visit www.aachen.de or the city's social media channels to find out about the current status. It is also possible to call the Call Aachen hotline on 0241 510051.
