Explosive ordnance found in Franzstrasse:
Five administrative buildings are in the evacuation zone
In coordination with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service, an area within a radius of 400 meters around the explosive device in Franzstraße will be evacuated from 9 a.m. on the morning of 22 January. Following the evacuation, the bomb will be defused. In addition to the main railway station and the railroad line, there are five administrative buildings in the evacuation area.
The Hackländerstrasse, Lagerhausstrasse, Mozartstrasse and Aureliusstrasse 2 and 30 administration buildings will be closed on Thursday, January 22.
The St. Leonhard grammar school and the Fischmarkt elementary school will also remain closed. The grammar school offers distance learning. The St. Marien daycare center in Reumontstraße will also remain closed.
The business area of the Tivoli, Krefelder Straße 205, will be available as emergency accommodation for affected residents from 9 am. ASEAG will be operating special buses from 9 a.m., picking people up at the Normaluhr bus stop (on Wilhelmstraße towards Kaiserplatz) and the bus station and taking them to Tivoli. Parking is available at the Tivoli.
