Contemporary puppet theater in space
The "Animations" series with contemporary puppet theater in the Ludwig Forum space on Jülicher Straße continues in January with two performances. Tickets are still available for both performances.
Contemporary puppet theater encompasses a wide range of aesthetic means and scenic possibilities. It combines impulses and inspirations from all the arts. The "Animations" series organized by the Cultural Department of the City of Aachen in cooperation with artistic director Stephan Wunsch provides insights into this range. The animated figure is at the center of the productions shown.
The screening dates are:
Friday, January 30, 7:30 p.m.
Eva Weissenböck and Stephan Wunsch: "The Wind Bride. The visions of Leonora Carrington." / Theater rosenfisch
Leonora Carrington (1917-2011), painter, magician and author, escaped the constraints of her wealthy family early on and joined the Surrealists in Paris. When her partner, the painter Max Ernst, was interned in the south of France in 1940, she suffered a mental breakdown. The psyche stages object theater: animals begin to speak, objects come to life, reality is out of joint. A magical journey into her inner self begins...
"Windsbraut" combines drama with puppet theater and shows the surreal as poetic resistance to an unbearable, crazy world: visually powerful, playful, moving.
Saturday, January 31, 3 p.m.
"Where fox and hare say goodnight" / Fithe - the puppet theater from East Belgium
The little rabbit doesn't feel like waiting alone in the cave. He hops around a bit until he realizes that he has lost his way. Then he meets Mrs. Fox and asks her for help. But wait a minute, isn't a fox dangerous for a little rabbit? Actually yes, but not in this particular meadow - because this is where fox and rabbit always say goodnight to each other.
A loving bedtime story with live music for children aged three to six.
