An important message to all parents and guardians who live in the city of Aachen or are moving to Aachen by August 1, 2026: Anyone looking for a childcare place in a publicly funded daycare center should register on the KiTa-Portal of the City of Aachen at www.kitas.aachen.de by January 31 and submit requests for a childcare place there. The allocation of places for the new KiTa year, which starts on August 1, begins on February 1. Only childcare place requests that are received by January 31 can be guaranteed to be recorded and processed in good time.

Registration for all publicly funded daycare facilities is done exclusively online via the municipal KiTa portal. The portal also provides parents and guardians with information about the various providers and the individual daycare facilities. Frequently asked questions about the registration process ("FAQ") are also answered there. Data about the child, the parents or legal guardians themselves and the desired care - scope, facility, etc. - must be entered in the online portal. It is recommended that you select several facilities when registering. A total of up to six active reservations for KiTas and child day care are possible at the same time.

Child day care
Child day care is an equivalent service for the care of children under the age of three. Registration now also takes place via the Kita-Portal. Compulsory participation in a corresponding information event takes place via the Verein für Familiäre Tagesbetreuung e.
