Renovation work on the embankment wall along Hahner Straße
Aachener Stadtbetrieb will renovate the Indestützmauer along Hahner Straße, between the Hahn Steinbruch stop and the road bridge opposite Gracht, in four sections by the end of 2027.
In a first phase, the area on the "small" Hahner Straße (house numbers 51-53a) will be renovated. The area in front of house number 53a will be completely closed to public traffic for this purpose. The driveways will remain accessible. The detour will be via the streets "Heidchenberg" and "Hahner Straße". All residents have been informed about the measure. There may be temporary restrictions on access to the property during working hours. Everyone involved is keen for the construction work to progress quickly, so residents are asked to drive any vehicles they need out of the work area if possible. Access on foot will be possible at all times.
The renovation work in the first construction phase will begin on Monday, January 12, and is expected to be completed by the end of August.
The retaining wall on both sides of the Inde is a natural stone retaining wall. In the planning scope now under consideration, it consists of five partial structures. In addition to the renovation of the retaining walls, the fall protection structures, such as masonry parapets and a tubular railing, which are too low, will be dismantled. They will then be replaced with top-mounted railings.
