Local politics in the week from March 02 to 06
The coming week in local politics will be varied with four committee meetings and one district council meeting. Among other things, the Audit Committee will meet and the meeting of the Citizens' Forum will be canceled.
Tuesday, March 3
The Nature Conservation Advisory Boardmeets at 5 p.m. in the Campus meeting room (room SG113). The chairman reports on cases of participation.
The Committee for Schools and Further Education will also meet at 5 p.m. in room 207 of the Mozartstraße administration building. The status of the Montessori Center Eilendorf, the name changes of the municipal Montessori community elementary school and the possible introduction of a "PRIMUS School" in Aachen will be discussed.
The Audit Committee meets at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The tasks and organization of auditing will be presented, giving new committee members in particular the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the special features of auditing. In addition, the "Compliance Report 2025" will be presented and information provided on the status of report controlling.
The Committee for the Environment and Climate Protection will also meet at 5 p.m. in the Haus Löwenstein meeting room. A resolution will be passed on the reopening of the "Campus West" development plan. There will also be a report on the status of the implementation of climate protection monitoring and the 2026 draft budget will be presented.
Wednesday, March 4,
The Main and Finance Committee meets in the Council Chamber at 5 pm. The focus is on the 2026 budget. The Eurogress Aachen 2026 business plan and the interior planning for the Haus der Neugier will also be discussed.
Finally, the Aachen-Brand district council will meet at 5 p.m. in the meeting room of the Aachen-Brand district office. It will discuss the requirements planning for child daycare in the city of Aachen for the 2026/2027 childcare year. The district council will also discuss the demographic concept of the city of Aachen and Sundays open for business in 2026.
