Local politics in the week from February 16 to 22

After the carnival days, there are three dates in the local political calendar. The originally scheduled meeting of the Aachen-Richterich district council will be canceled, but a special meeting of the personnel and administration committee will take place instead.

Thursday, February 19,
The Seniors' Council meets at 10 a.m. in the council meeting room at Aachen Town Hall. The Seniors' Council listens to a presentation on the "Housing search adventure" by the Leitstelle Älter werden in Aachen, discusses its own website and the 2025 annual report.

A special meeting of the Personnel and Administration Committee is scheduled for 3.30 p.m. in the Campus meeting room in the administration building on Maria-Theresia-Allee. The topics on the agenda will be submitted later.

The Committee for Digitalization will also meet at 5 p.m. in the Campus meeting room on Maria-Theresia-Allee. The only public item on the agenda is the 2026 budget consultation.

The mobility committee will be discussing planned construction measures with a major impact this year from 5 p.m. in the council meeting room. Also on the agenda: the prevention of mobility poverty through public transport and sharing offers as well as the construction of a parking pallet or parking garage at the Hangeweiher parking lot on Hermann-Löns-Allee.
