Concert by the winners of the 62nd regional "Jugend musiziert" competition

Even after more than 60 years, "Jugend musiziert" continues to enjoy unbroken popularity: over 200 music-loving children and young people from the city and city region of Aachen and the districts of Düren and Heinsberg, including over 70 from Aachen and the city region, took part in the competition - a record number of participants. The regional competition was held on January 31 and February 1 in the music school of the city of Aachen.

This year's competition includes the solo categories piano, voice, harp, drum set (pop), guitar (pop), as well as ensemble categories for wind and string instruments, accordion and new music.

In the festive concert of the prizewinners on Friday, February 27, at 7 p.m. in the Theater Aachen, the young musicians awarded prizes by the juries will present samples from their competition programs.

The competition is sponsored by the German Music Council. The Aachen regional competition is jointly organized by the music schools of the associated municipalities and supported by the region's savings banks.
