After the summer break, local politics is also getting back into the swing of things at a somewhat more leisurely pace, with just two meetings scheduled for next week.

Wednesday,
September 2: The Aachen-Kornelimünster/Walheim District Council will meet at 5:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Aachen-Kornelimünster/Walheim District Office. The meeting will include a discussion of the planning mandate for the Aachen-Walheim Volunteer Fire Department’s firehouse. In addition, the 2027 Forest Management Plan for the Münsterwald and the 2026 priority list for street lighting systems will be presented.

The meeting of the Committee on Equal Opportunity and Integration will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall conference room. The meeting will address the issue of funding for community centers run by organizations for people with immigrant backgrounds. In addition, the integrated urban development concept “Zukunft Forst” will be presented, and the cleaning and restoration of the memorial stele “10 + 1 Trees for the Victims of the NSU” in Aachen’s Ferberpark will be discussed.
