“Still at Home”: A Reading with Tupoka Ogette at the Grenzlandtheater in Aachen
What does “home” mean? When do we feel a sense of belonging? And how do personal stories shape our understanding of society? In her memoir, Tupoka Ogette writes about her journey between East and West, loss and new beginnings, exclusion and connection. It is personal and moving, while also shedding light on social issues that remain relevant to this day.
She describes herself as a “bridge-builder”—someone who stands between different worlds, experiences, and perspectives. From this unique vantage point, she explores themes of belonging, identity, and the power to forge connections where others draw boundaries. Following the reading on Monday, August 31, at 7 p.m. at the Grenzlandtheater Aachen, Tupoka Ogette will engage with the audience during an author discussion.
The Bildungswerk Aachen, the Diakonie Aachen’s Integration Agency for North Rhine-Westphalia, and the City of Aachen’s Municipal Integration Center cordially invite all interested individuals to the reading.
