"Have your say in Aachen": Youth survey still open until May 15
How would young people in Aachen like to get involved in issues that matter to them? The “Mitreden in Aachen” survey aims to provide answers to this question. Those interested can participate online at www.aachen.de/jugendumfrage until May 15. All 11- to 19-year-olds have already received an invitation to the youth survey by mail in recent days. In addition, young adults over the age of 19 are also warmly invited to participate.
A wide range of topics and specific requests for
participation: The survey aims to identify which issues are most important to young people in Aachen, what opportunities and projects they would like to see to enable active participation, and what barriers still hinder their involvement. The topics are diverse: they range from one’s own neighborhood and district to issues affecting Aachen as a whole. Questions regarding bus routes, the design of public spaces, and the establishment of a youth council for Aachen are also included in the survey.
Invitation to the Citizens’ Forum: A Youth Council for Aachen?
In addition, all young people are invited to the next meeting of the Citizens’ Forum, which will take place on Tuesday, May 5, at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Aachen City Hall. Among other topics, the forum will discuss the establishment of an Aachen Youth Council for 11- to 15-year-olds. The members of the youth council are to be elected by their peers in fair and secret elections and will be granted a politically legitimate right to have a say.
