Citizens' forum: focus on cleanliness, perception of safety and youth participation
The Citizens' Forum of the City of Aachen will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, May 5, at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall.
The focus is on a citizens' proposal for a campaign against cigarette waste in public spaces. The aim is to reduce cigarette butt pollution and raise awareness of urban cleanliness through education, improved disposal options and other measures.
The results of the "The night belongs to us" survey will also be presented at the citizens' forum. The survey examined the perception of safety in Aachen's nightlife and shows that the perception of safety varies depending on the location and situation and that there is still a need for action.
A concept proposal for the establishment of a youth council for the city of Aachen is also on the agenda. The aim is to give young people a fixed and structured opportunity to participate so that they can contribute their interests to political decision-making processes and play an active role in shaping municipal procedures.
In addition to these topics, the meeting also provides space for residents' question time and for other suggestions and complaints. The Citizens' Forum is a council committee of the City of Aachen and sees itself as a place of exchange between citizens, politicians and the administration. Interested parties can submit their concerns here and talk directly to the relevant authorities. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, join in the discussion and actively participate. Every opinion is important.
