"Let's go baroque!" - matinee concert with ensembles from the Aachen Music School
Under the title "Let's go baroque!", ensembles from the Music School of the City of Aachen will present the results of their Festival Baroque Workshop together with guests on Sunday, May 10, at 12 noon in the Salvatorkirche.
Since February, young and adult musicians have been working on solo and trio sonatas as well as larger ensemble works of early music in lessons. In addition, they have been able to deepen their knowledge of Baroque articulation, ornamentation, differentiated continuo playing and transparent ensemble playing at monthly coaching Saturdays under the expert guidance of specialists in historical performance practice Ulrike Schaar (cello) and Martin Sandhoff (transverse flute and recorder).
Finally, the ensembles present a varied program with works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Georg Friedrich Händel, Antonio Vivaldi, Francesco Mancini and Johann Christoph Pepusch.
As last year, the matinee concert will be presented in an informative and entertaining manner by Martin Hoffmann, violist in the Aachen Symphony Orchestra and member of the Chapelle Quartet and the baroque chamber formation The Little Consort.
Admission is free. Please register at: info@fonte-vivace.de
Date: May 10, 2026, 12:00 p.m.
Location: Salvatorkirche, Salvatorberg 1, 52070 Aachen
