The instrument wolves - discover wind instruments at the music school
Which wind instrument should I learn? And what is the difference between a woodwind and a brass instrument? These and many other questions are answered for children from the second year of primary school at the "Instrument Wolves" of the Aachen Music School.
Whether woodwind or brass: anyone who wants to play a wind instrument is not faced with an easy decision given the many and very different instruments available. What do the instruments sound like, how are they played and, above all, which instrument suits me best? At the music school, children aged 7 to 10 can try out different wind instruments with the "instrument wolves". The teachers also give the children and their parents lots of tips on choosing the "right instrument".
You can get to know these instruments during the exploration tour:
- Transverse flute
- Oboe
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
- Bassoon
- Trumpet
- Trombone/Euphonium
- Horn
After the exploration tour, the children choose their favorite instrument in the instrument lab and learn to play their first songs in small groups. And then they all play together in the "wolf orchestra".
